CUIDAMORES

"With the project I found that I had wings"
Luisa, participant of Nuestra Tierra.
El Salado, Bolívar.

The municipality of El Salado, in the department of Bolivar, will be filled with "cuidamores" thanks to the Mi Sangre Foundation’s "Teje la Vida" project, to be developed in coming days, which was formerly known as "Nuestra Tierra", led by the REI Foundation. The project conducted a process focused on families and community members, seeking to heal the soul wounds the conflict left in them.

Now, after harvesting the teachings, creating links with the community, identifying new needs and recognizing other people who need help, we seek to strengthen community resilience, the ability we all have to overcome the emotional pain and trauma that life presents.

This time, we will work on memory and the construction of citizenship, from a rights perspective. Participants will find psychotherapy, art and fun, and a social approach on history, memories, traditions and customs. The cultural heritage is a strength that can go hand in hand with the construction of citizenship.

Teje la Vida, El Salado, will focus on the strengthening of family members and people in the community, seeking to strengthen children, youths, families, significant adults and social networks in the municipality.

The project will have different kinds of processes, therapeutic ones for individuals and communities to heal the wounds the conflict has left them; pedagogical ones to strengthen resilient, and city building ones, which will provide tools for life. Psychosocial deployment is now seen as a display of strategies that seek social and personal development.

The proposal for this occasion is to integrate personal, family, group, community and social approaches, not only from social and family support, already provided, but also from the protective environments now called "cuidamores" adults.

Together we can help build peace in Colombia, so make part and parcel of social transformation, and help us replicate this information.
