Weaving life in Valdivia and Taraza

"We can learn amazing things with the people who have joined us, since Mi Sangre arrived we can count on someone who supports us"
Jorge Edilson Martínez, participant of the psychosocial program Teje la Vida.
Valdivia, Antioquia.

Teamwork, net weaving, stories told, dreams and union of knowledge, this is the recipe to help alleviate psychological and social integration of children, adolescents and adult victims of landmines (APM) and unexploded ordnance (UXO) in Valdivia and Tarazá, Antioquia.

After 8 months in Antioquia Teje la Vida have provided psychosocial support to 179 victims of various acts of violence due to armed conflict in the municipalities of Valdivia and Tarazá, Antioquia. 90, program participants are inhabitants of the municipality of Valdivia and 69 of Tarazá, 37 correspond to the direct victims of MAPAPM and UXO and 142 have been affected by various acts of violence.

This program led by the Mi Sangre Foundation has articulated halls, police stations, educational institutions and municipal cultural centers, government departments, grassroots organizations and health secretariats, to reach more people and expand the footprint.

Another achievement that occurs through coordination with various state entities is the arrival in the village of Raudal Viejo, which was abandoned by the municipality and institutions. Currently the team of psychosocial support of the Foundation moves there every month for brigades, focusing mine victims and providing individual, group and family counseling to the people of this beautiful land that has been sadly beaten by violence.

Networking and building social fabric involves understanding that we are all part in peace-building, weaving together life.

Coordination with government agencies allows the development of activities thanks to the institutional commitment also achieved integrating psychosocial support process Teje la Vida in the Development Plan document, ready to appear before the City Council for approval each location.
