Department leaders are trained in Telemedicine

Arauca department leaders are trained in Psychosocial First Aid through Telemedicine.

"Thanks to the virtuality we can, from the social and community, make bridges, networks and common purposes of work that contribute to the healing of a community, and the emergence of a culture of peace"
David Vidal, Coordinator of the  Psychosocial Accompaniment Line, Mi Sangre Foundation.

In Colombia the war hits us in different ways for all citizens, however we have a large reservoir of hope and active communities who believe that change is possible and that help is at hand.

Along the path of Mi Sangre we have been working hard to heal the wounds of the soul and provide victims with tools to become change agents in their communities.

Apprenticeships harvested, tested and validated methodologies, and coordinated work with partners, enable us today to have extensive experience in providing psychosocial support to victims of various acts of violence.

Recently, in agreement with the Comitato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo dei Popoli - CISP-, we trained 120 community leaders and state officials of the department of Arauca, in Psychosocial First Aid through telemedicine. In total, prioritized six municipalities; in the coming days they will start with a multiplication process that will be built with spaces for training and strengthening social work.

Getting people to interact with the tool, was one of the biggest challenges, in some cases it was the first time that these leaders approached the virtuality. The conditions were difficult, sometimes there was no light, heat in the rooms was cramped and keep the audience in the classroom was difficult.

But participants did not hold back in the time of training activities. Performances, plays and even series are the result of the practical exercises carried out, and although it was sometimes difficult to see or hear what they did, the desire and emotion conveyed better than a webcam.

Thanks to this Psychosocial First Aid training process, 120 well-being trained leaders today are people who may accompany others in their grief, crisis and emotional processes.

Together we can help build peace in Colombia, do art and part of the transformation, help us to replicate this information.
