Sharing the Voices of Tibet

The Tibetan government, along with political refugees who have escaped persecution from the Chinese government, have kept their hope alive for over 60 years for a peaceful, independent Tibetan state. In recent weeks, China has begun to reassess its hardline policies regarding Tibet. Visible change has yet to take effect, but in a speech last Friday, the Dalai Lama announced he has hope. As a organization dedicated to sharing the voices of those who have survived the worst human atrocities imaginable, we are always looking for new stories and visions for the future. Who better than this diaspora, whose lives are dedicated to maintaining hope for an end to violence and occupation, to share their visions for the end of atrocity?

In 2014, as part of our ongoing campaign, the 3 Generations video crew will travel to Dharamshala, India where we will interview Tibetans who have unique visions for the world without human rights abuses. Through our Tibetan contacts, the 3 Generations team has secured rare interviews with high-ranking Tibetan rinpoches, as well as other lamas and spiritual leaders who have powerful visions for the future. The interviewees will also include Tibetans who have been tortured by the Chinese government, and want to share their stories of survival and their visions for the future. The visions and stories of governmental leaders will also be incorporated into this project. The interviews will be edited for 3 Generations’ website, as well as incorporated into our short film project Imagine the End of Atrocity.

We are fortunate to have the opportunity to speak with these Tibetans, whose visions and stories will be recorded for our benefit, as well as for generations to come.
