2010 Update

By Ann McKittrick - Director of Development and Outreach, January 27, 2010 03:41 PM

Hello Everyone,

Happy New Year! We are thrilled that we are just over the halfway mark of meeting our goal and we hope that you will consider supporting our Emergency Support Fund in 2010.

We ended 2009 on a great note through our 2009 Annual Appeal, where we raised enough money to send gift cards to nearly 50 Iraqi families to help them with winter clothing purchases. In addition, we were able to increase our Emergency Support Fund to help with visa costs for our Iraqi allies and emergency payments for those that are in dire need here in the United States.

We applaud the State Department's announcement on January 25th that they will be increasing the grant given to assisting refugees during their initial 30-90 days, which will help our Iraqi allies start their new life here in the U.S. http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2010/01/135800.htm

News from List Project HQ

By Ann McKittrick - Director of Development and Outreach, September 30, 2009 02:38 PM

Hi Everyone,

We are almost halfway to our goal of $10,000! Thank you for your support.

Update from TLPHQ:

The List Project recently returned from a three-week trip to Iraq, Jordan and Syria. We traveled with a small documentary film crew from Principle Pictures and with lawyers from our partnering law firms. The purpose of the trip was to assess the impact of U.S. troop withdrawal on the Iraqi refugee crisis, as well as to check in with many Iraqis on our List who are waiting to be resettled in the U.S.

After seeing many Iraqis (representing nearly 150 from our List), it was clear that U.S.-affiliated Iraqis feel increasingly unsafe and insecure about their future as the U.S. military continues to pull out of Iraq. The List Project will be working to address our findings and concerns with government officials and advocacy organizations in the coming months. Please check out the link below to learn more about the documentary film from Principle Pictures.

In addition to our travels, the List Project has some exciting news on the media front. We were featured on the Today Show this month! NBC’s correspondent Peter Alexander interviewed members of the List Project team and a few recently resettled Iraqi families in Washington, D.C. Please check out the link below to watch our clip!

Please email us if you have any questions or would like to learn about the ways that you can volunteer!
