June 2012 Update

2011 13-17 course participants
2011 13-17 course participants

It's summertime, and Back Up is gearing up for our annual U-18's rehabilitative courses!  Every year, your donations help us organize both a course for Children under the age of 13 and another course for young people aged 13-17.  These courses allow for up to 14 young people to partake in activities like canoeing, abseiling, hiking, sailing, and wheelcair sports.  Last year, 87% of course participants felt more confident about life 6 months after the course was complete.

Here is a quote from an U-18s participant in 2011:

'When i found out about Back Up i was really inspired by what they do for people with spinal cord injuries. But at the time i never thought i'd be strong enough to take part in one of their courses. After getting a place on the Keswick Multi Activity Course i was really apprehensive about going. But as soon as i got there, everyone made me feel really comfortable and welcome and I instantly made friends that i still keep in touch with now. The course totally changed my outlook on life as I was doing things that i never even imagined i'd be able to do again. It opened my eyes to so many more possibilities and taught me to not hold back because of my disability."

Thank you so much for your support!
