3 Incubators for Life: Through the great heart of the companiesand people who attended the Atanasio Girardot stadium in Medellin January 19, 2014 in the "Día del Fútbol Antioqueño" we raised    $106 million, which, added to donations of FRIENDS OF HOSPITAL and donors of GLOBALVIVING allow us to acquire 3 incubators benefiting 1,000 preterm or low birth weights each year.

Located on the first floor of the maternity block, the service has 40 beds and is divided into three levels of care, according to patient complexity:

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Intermediate Care Unit
Primary Care

The service sees patients from birth to one month of age, who require special care due to low weight at birth, prematurity or respiratory, metabolic or hemodynamic disorders or infections.

The service carries out epidemiological research and infection control processes to ensure optimal patient care.

An interdisciplinary team of neonatologists, general pediatricians and specialized nurses , ensure optimal patient care 24 hours a day, in addition to the support of professionals in . nutrition, respiratory therapy and social work.

The area is endowed with modern, state-of-the-art equipment to ensure the safe handling of newborns in critical condition, including high frequency ventilation.
