TEEI improves people’s lives through education with a focus on children, parents, educators, and community leaders for the creation of a more peaceful world
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
TEEI will provide 50 workshops to children, parents, teachers, and nurses with tools to prevent, detect, & report abuse.
-Almost five children die everyday as a result of child abuse. More than three out of four are under the age of 4.
-A report of child abuse is made every ten seconds in the US
-90% of child sexual abuse victims know the perpetrator in some way; 68% are abused by family members.
-Child abuse occurs at every socio-economic level, across ethnic and cultural line
How will this project solve this problem?
Through a series of 50 interactive workshops, children,teens & adults will identify abuse, be able to protect themselves from abuse and report abuse. Parents will learn how to discipline in a healthy and nurturing manner, leading to a peaceful world.
Potential Long Term Impact
This project will directly train 400 children, youth, parents, and professionals with the potential to impact over 2,300 youth across the U.S
