Summary

kenyan students have been wrongly used by politicians to cause violent conflicts during election time against members of various tribes creating hatred, suffering, displacements, tension, suspicion, deaths and destruction of property. This has made it hard for students to peacefully co-exist.Life Focus Group plans to teach peace education to students and teachers in order to plant a peace culture instead of war culture. We hope to transform their mindsets so that peace prevails even out of school.

Challenge

The project aims to reach over 500,000 students and 2,600 teachers in peace education in Nakuru County. The students have been misused by selfish leaders to cause conflict against members of different tribes creating disunity and hatred and serious destruction of property.Life Focus Group has realised that no meaningful cohesion and development can occour when tribes hate one another and education has been negatively affected when students refuse to peacefully co-exist.We have to change this .

Solution

The project will completely transform the mindset and attitudes of students and teachers. The students and teachers will gain conflict resolution skills ,develop a culture of peace ,concentrate on attainment of life goals. The students will have critical skills and tolerance of one another. They will develop multicultural and Global Citizenship skills and be peace ambassadors within schoolenvironments and beyond. The main concept will be teach peace so that no one will teach them violence.

Long-Term Impact

The long term goal will be planting a culture of peace and appreciation of all human beings irrespective of their social and economic origin. There will be development in all aspects of life as students will focus on realisation.Communities that have been hostile against one another will reconcile and forgive one another and students will be agents of peaceful change .We expect that the project when fully implemented will reach over 500,0000 students and 2,600 teachers within Nakuru county kenya.
