The Tadlo Computer Education Center in Salavanh Province, southern Laos offers free computer training and English lessons to local students. Help provide maintenance, new parts, and updated equipment.
Children in rural Laos have severely limited access to the education they need to pull them out of poverty. In the area around Tadlo Computer Education Center, only one secondary school provides education up to an eighth grade level. Computer training in Laos is limited to cities, making IT skills training only accessible to urban youth. TCEC is currently working with a limited number of computers, most of which run on old, slow processors.
TCEC provides computer training and English education to over 70 students from age 10 to 21. With new and updated equipment, their ability to provide training to students will be greatly expanded.
Computer training and English education are vital for the social mobility of rural youth. These skills will give the students at TCEC the opportunity to lift their families out of poverty in one of the poorest nations in the world.
