Nirnaya targets to better the lives of approximately 200 tribal girls empowering them, improving their nutritional and health status and providing them various life skills
The project aims to promote the rights of Irula tribal girl child in terms of education, health, childhood and pre-adolescent issues. We hope to provide pre-school education with nutritious food and drink for children thereby addressing issues of malnutrition. Sensitizing and educating the community will help prevent child marriages and fight against child labor. By providing additional coaching and after school care, would enable the children to progress to the mainstream schools.
The main objective is to improve the overall development of the tribal girl child. By changing the mindset of the society which largely perceives the girl child to be a burden on the families due to their poor socioeconomic status and by supporting the girl child in her education would help broaden the horizons to withstand oppressive forces of custom, culture which will change the life perspective of generations to come.
