Your support helps rural families in Guatemala build sustainable livelihoods through agroforestry and beekeeping. By providing training, tools, and hands-on support, EcoLogic works with small-scale farmers to grow diverse agroecological production systems and manage beehives that improve food security, generate income, and protect the forests they depend op.
In many rural Guatemalan communities, families rely almost entirely on subsistence corn farming and the surrounding natural resources to meet their basic needs. Limited economic opportunities and immediate food and income pressures leave farmers with few alternatives, often forcing them to use the land in ways that degrade soils, reduce biodiversity, and threaten long-term livelihoods.
EcoLogic addresses this challenge by partnering with committed local farmers to adopt sustainable agroforestry and beekeeping practices that restore the land while strengthening household livelihoods. Through hands-on training, access to native tree species, and ongoing technical support, farmers transition to systems that improve soil health, protect biodiversity, and generate reliable income. This project responds directly to community demand for practical solutions that benefit both people an
Over the long term, this project will enable 200 farming families in 2026 to transition away from unsustainable land use and toward regenerative, forest-friendly livelihoods. By providing tools, native seeds, and hands-on training, EcoLogic helps farmers restore degraded land while improving food security and household income. As agroforestry systems mature and beekeeping enterprises grow, pressure on surrounding forests declines, biodiversity recovers, and soils regain productivity.
