Sustainable agriculture and biomass fuels/fertilizer help farmers to build profitable small businesses in rural and developing economies of Belize while restoring soils, and enhancing crop yields
Citrus waste runoff has caused major pollution problems in Belize. Our solution converts waste into a marketable fertilizer that increases yield, prevents leeching, increases nutrient uptake and reduces bio-waste pollution. Additionally, it produces diesel fuel from the citrus waste replacing imported fuels. Small farms need diesel and fertilizer as they spend hard earned profits to import these now. This win-win solution creates economic opportunity for large segments of developing countries.
Pursue paths to share an integrated solution for Belize, changing their citrus waste problem into an asset; and demonstrating citrus energy products in a pilot production system; and engineer plans for appropriate scale rural systems.
By creating marketable products from waste, we will stop river pollution. The co-product fertilizer solves many problems while increases farm income and restoring soil quality; small-scale diesel fuel production reduces the need to import fuel.
