Accomplishments of Sustainable Rural Life in 2013
Dear Sustainable Rural Life friends,
We are beginning 2013 with great accomplishments on our program and we are more than happy to share them with you.
As we informed you in our last communication the Canadian Fund in Mexico gave us a donation of $40,000.00 USD to continue helping rural communities to improve their life quality. We were able to purchase 100 solar pots and 100 Clean Cookstoves to implement them in rural communities located in four states of Mexico: Baja California Sur, Querétaro, Coahuila, Tabasco and Quintana Roo. With these additional pairs of ecotechnologies we complemented last year´s delivery and people learned how to implement them to transfer that knowledge to their communities.
We are still collaborating alongside a with a social enterprise Servicio Continental de Mensajeria (SCM) and it has been very exciting and also a big step, it is the first time that SRL partners with an enterprise to implement a project together. We began working with their employees and know we are preparing Carbon Bonds Certification of a Yucatan partner with SCM funding as next step of our collaboration.
This amazing project is able to transform communities in three aspects: economical, environmental as well as sanitary by reducing diseases generated by the daily exposure to open fires. For 2013 we are proud to say that more than 1000 families have been directly benefitted from the program.
We thank all our donors who believe in this cause and support us; we hope you continue being part of it.
We wish you all a great holiday!
All the best,
Sustainable Rural Life Team
