The project will Educate, offer Medical services for 63 Orphans and Vulnerable Children from the slum, Empower 50 women from Local communities with Sustenance Skills and English Literacy, and it will help to develop the talents of over 100 youth. It will also promote peace & Unity in Uganda through Cultural Music Dance and Drama. Your generous donation will also provide 2 meals a day for your child.
Because of the high rate of poverty, HIV/AIDS, illiterate mothers, child abuse in slum communities, many orphans & poor children whose families cannot provide basics needs, children end up living on the streets. There are more than 10,000 street children between 3-25 years (89% boys & 11% girls) in Uganda. In the slum communities it is not possible for some children to go to school. We believe every child has the right to education no matter the situation they were born into.
Mama Africa provides education, medical care & a safe home for orphans. We also provide programs to prepare them for a brighter and sustainable future. Mothers are also empowered with literacy programs and skills. We develop talents, promote peace and unity through music, dance and drama. Rural communities benefit from micro-loans to help small starting businesses like sweater making, craft making, and briquette making. Jesus Christ is our foundation.
The project will give education, develop talents, and provide empowerment skills to 63 orphaned children thus helping them to shape their future, creating opportunities for transformation and rehabilitation & will generate income, hence, allowing children to rise out of poverty. It will also prevent hundreds of children from going on the streets, teenage prostitution & pregnancy, child trafficking, & drug abuse. It will help to save women from being violated as they become self-sufficient.
Given birth by an illiterate mother caused us to be raised in a slum community; father absent. Because of my past, I choose to rescue desperate children from the slums & streets. I never say,"Can''t".
