Summary
Help girls in Malawi who are attending secondary school with the support of the Advancement of Girls' Education (AGE) to take advantage of unbudgeted, complementary educational opportunities.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Each AGE scholar has overcome hardships to excel in school and earn a place in the AGE program. AGE pays for school-related fees and mentoring support. At times our scholars are recognized with educational opportunities outside of our immediate program such as attending summer school. Help AGE support them in these worthy endeavours and pay associated fees which can include transportation, housing, processing/VISA fees, supplies, etc.
How will this project solve this problem?
Many special opportunities are becoming available to our scholars, both in Malawi and the United States. Camps, retreats, and summer school experiences add to academic and social growth, as well as expanding exposure to new possibilities.
Potential Long Term Impact
Special programs will give a deserving scholar an unparalleled educational experience and open her eyes to new possibilities. Each activity will increase individual confidence and help create a role model who imparts her learning to classmates.
Project Message
Upon hearing the news of going to Phillips Exeter I was more excited than ever before and I pray that nothing should disturb this journey. That is when I realised that my dreams are coming true.
