Brian La Trobe - Project Leader

Attended University of CapeTown and London UK. Post Grad : Rochester NY State. Designed and built SA’s first energy from Waste Project to produce electricity. “R&Ded” a process to treat human waste by “Forced Aeration Composting”. Developed processes to treat animal waste. Developed a patented waterless odorless sanitation system which is manufactured in South Africa and Ghana.

Gavin La Trobe - MD Sanix (Pty) Ltd.

Attended Kingswood College Grahamstown. University of Port Elizabeth- Marketing. Worked in film production for a number of years. Later joined Brian La Trobe in the waste stabilization business. Responsible for all the design work on the technical processes as developed by the company.

Jaco Van Schalkwyk - Chief Executive Refilwe Aids Clinic

Jaco held an executive position in Investment Banking. His firm sent him to call on Refilwe to investigate how it could assist. He was so impressed by the devotion of the Refilwe staff to its patients and the AIDS orphans, Jaco resigned his position in order administer the entire project.
