The Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary, located in Northeast Florida, provides a safe, loving, forever home for endangered big cats and educates the public about their plight in the wild and in captivity. This project provides the necessary food and supplements for over 45 residents for three months.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
There are 2,500 tigers remaining in the wild and more than 5,000 in captivity. Only 10 percent of those in captivity reside in accredited facilities. We provide a safe, loving, forever home to these exotic animals confiscated by the state or federal government that may otherwise be euthanized. While providing the best possible care for our residents, food and supplements become a great expense. This project will directly affect all 48 residents who call Catty Shack Ranch home, forever home.
How will this project solve this problem?
This project will provide a three month supply of food and supplements for the residents.
Potential Long Term Impact
In addition to providing the best care possible for our residents, we strive to educate the public about their plight in the wild and in captivity through field trips, public tours, internships and volunteer programs. Catty Shack hopes that through its educational programs we can ensure a safer and more responsible future for all species of wildlife.
