Bring one Israeli and one Palestinian youth activist, ages 18-34, trained in leadership skills, non-violent activism and conflict resolution, to the United States for a seven day speaking tour to engage American audiences and demonstrate that peace in the Middle East is not only possible, it is inevitable. From September 8-13 the youth activists will be in New England, from October 7-12 they will be in New York, and from November 11-16 in Northern California.
There is significant work to be done in Israel and Palestine in order to achieve an end to the conflict, but great strides also need to be taken in the international community. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict remains a central, and often controversial, topic for Americans, leading many to disengage from furthering the progress of the peace process.
OneVoice conducts speaking tours to engage Americans by connecting them with our Israeli and Palestinian activists working to build peace. During these week-long tours, our youth leaders address large audiences, meet with student and community leaders, and exchange best practices in combating challenges that arise from conflict in their own communities. We seek to empower Americans to build consensus and awareness in their communities that also has a global impact on ending the conflict.
Recognizing the importance of engaging the international community, we seek to continue growing a network of OneVoice supporters across the US that support and amplify the bold work that our Israeli and Palestinian Youth Leaders carry out in the Middle East. During the 2011-2012 academic year OneVoice engaged over 2,700 students and community members at 94 events across 25 campuses. Through these tours, participants are equipped with the tools to create a lasting end to the conflict.
