Summary

We use football to raise awareness of homelessness & HIV whilst teaching leadership skills and coaching.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

We work with homelessness in Nairobi offering 200 players football training sessions five days a week, participation in a street league, and national tournament whilst teaching communication and leadership skills, offering coaching certificates, involvement in community activities, education about drugs and HIV & AIDS.

How will this project solve this problem?

Regular football training, a street league, a national tournament involving 30 teams to select the Kenya Homeless World Cup team encourages self esteem, morale, drug rehabilitation - 77% of players change significantly.

Potential Long Term Impact

We will build 7 pitches and set up a national league using football to raise awareness of homelessness and HIV & aids, teach leadership skills, enable drug rehabilitation to change lives.

Project Message

My life started when I started playing football. With not playing football I think I could be dead now. I see the Homeless World Cup as a turning point. . Football means a lot here in our community.
