MAIN ACTIVITIES New Year Celebration: The celebration was done within the premises of Raksha where the children were treated will various delicacies. They also had a gala time dancing in different songs; it was a great celebration where the children's enjoyed themselves to the fullest. Mothers' day Celebration: This celebration was also done in Raksha where different varieties of food were cooked for the children. It was a great way for the children to bond with the rest of the children's and they had a great day. Buddha Jayanti: The children were taken to a monastery during this day for blessings where they lit the lamps as well. They were very happy during this day and also had a lot of fun. After returning from the monastery they were entertained at Raksha as well with music and delicious food. Fun Park Visit: The children were taken to the Fun Park so that they could relax themselves. They are often taken for short visits where they get to have fun and be close to the nature as well. Since these children's are studying all the time this trip was very relaxing for them. They played various games like Badminton, Frisbee and then they were treated to snacks and food also. Birthday Celebration: Everyone's birthday is celebrated in Raksha where a birthday cake is ordered for the birthday person, there is music, games, delicious food and the children enjoyed themselves to the fullest. Michael Jackson's Death Anniversary: During this day Michael Jackson Fan Club came over to Raksha where they celebrated this day with the children. The children lit candles and payed tribute to Jackson by listening to his songs as well as dancing in his hit numbers. Regular Activities Computer Classes: The children's from class 5 to 7 go for computer classes in the evening after their school. Since being able to use a computer is very important in this generation the children's are sent for basic courses so that they can equally compete with the rest of the children who are more privileged than them. Yoga Classes: The children's get up at 5:00 and around 5:15 they start their Yoga where they especially do breathing exercises which helps them to sharpen their mind and become fresh early morning. Yoga is an important part of the children's life as it helps in their overall physical, mental and cognitive development. Dance Classes: The children are given at least half an hour for dance on a daily basis because they love to dance and it is a way of free expression where they dance and let go of their stress or anything that bothers them. Tuition Classes: Since the children need proper guidance in their studies they are also given tuition classes where they are helped with their homework and other things related to their studies. Extra-curricular Activities: Extra-curricular activities are very important for the children so they are engaged in various activities like dancing, singing and games such as badminton, football etc. These activities help them to build up their confidence as well as help them to relax. Weekend Celebration: Weekends are celebrated in a great way at Raksha every Friday or Saturday where the children's dance, sing and delicious foods are cooked that is enjoyed by everyone. ACHIEVEMENT The activities refreshed the children which made their mind fresh and they became more active. The celebration of Mother's Day made the children feel at home and gave them a sense of having a family. Through these activities the children got the knowledge about the important dates and events which occur throughout the year. The children have improved in their studies extensively due to the tuition classes. They have become more interested in their studies and have been excelling in their classes. There have been major changes in the disciplines and habits of the children. They have become more disciplined; they abide by the rules and are always making an effort to makes changes in their negative habits. Due to proper care and better facilities the health of the children's has improved and they have become healthier than before. Raksha Nepal has always worked for the best interest of the children's therefore a proper environment is ensured for them because of which they are happy in the life they have now. They enjoy life and are always in good spirits. CHALLENGES Sometimes in the midst of celebration the children long for their parents and it is at times very difficult to persuade them about the reasons why their parents are not there with them. Since there are 23 children at Raksha it becomes very difficult to give them individual care at all times due to lack of manpower and resources. Taking care of these children's and supporting them in every field becomes hard at times as there isn't much financial support or funds that are available. Though the children's have been improving in their studies, the children's have not been able to get proper guidance due to the absence of the tutors. It is not possible to give them extra tutors due to lack of funds and financial obstacles. The children do not have proper safety or security even after much effort as Raksha Nepal lacks funds and without any funds it is not possible to give the more facilities which they deserve. NEXT STRATEGY For more improvement of the children in their education and studies new tutors will be hired who will be responsible for guiding the children through their studies. The children's will be involved in more extracurricular activities in order to build their self-confidence, help them become more creative and for their overall physical as well as mental development. Raksha Nepal has also been planning out on providing the information of the children to the police so that security and safety can be provided as and when needed. We will also co-ordinate with the community members so that we can get help from them during times of emergency. Most importantly we will be focusing on collection of funds because if we get enough funds than enhanced facilities and better life can be given to these children.
