Summary
Provide boats and nets to help Indian fishermen return to work following the tsunami.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Fishermen account for 90% of those affected by the Tsunami in India. With their boats and nets destroyed, their source of income has stopped and their debts are mounting. If they are given boats and nets, they will be able to help themselves.
How will this project solve this problem?
Sponsor a fishing boat and nets for $360. Each boat provides food and income for 4-5 Indian families who have suffered since the tsunami hit.
Potential Long Term Impact
By providing 100 boats and nets, this project will help up to 5,000 families in India! Fishing is a source of food and income for coastal villages in India, and these supplies will allow fishermen to begin rebuilding their lives.
Project Message
This may be the worst natural disaster in recent history because it is affecting so many heavily populated coastal areas.
