It's exciting to see that the village is cultivating 5 different income-generating crops with 70% of families involved in the commercialization! As we are near meeting our goal for this project, I wanted to remind you that on Tuesday, March 16th GlobalGiving will hold a 'BONUS MATCHING DAY' to match all donations at 30%, up to $1,000 per donor per project on that day. We hope you'll consider taking advantage of this opportunity to support the completion of this project, or perhaps consider supporting our newest project launched in Honduras: Irrigation Water Project in Bella Vista! This project includes the build of one 20,000 gallon tank and the laying of tubing/piping for 19 acres of irrigation to benefit thirty-six (36) families in the village for a solid water source for both communal and individual family crops. Friends of Agros,

Thank you so much for your continued support of Agros villages like Nuevo Amanecer! Last quarter the villagers focused on ensuring food security by planting 33.5 acres of corn and 0.3 acres of beans using new, environmentally-friendly techniques.

Well, the harvest is in! From the 33.5 acres of corn harvested, the families had enough corn left over to sell in the market, providing a source of income for the families. The families were so encouraged by this success; they have also started a plantain growing project to further ensure food security for their village.
