The project provides Early Childhood Development training for underqualified creche teachers assisting them to run safe creches with good education and creativity preparing children for school.
Address the issue that underqualified women are responsible for looking after up to 70, 0-6 year old children from 6am -6pm in extremely poor and unsafe conditons with no toys and resources. The 7 creches are in downtown Johannesberg where the weekly workshops and visits take place. The teachers of the creches need to be qualified in Early Childhood Development in order to run creches where children are safe, stimulated and well educated and to get funding for resources to run activites.
The principles and teachers need to attend level 1 ECD (Early Childhood Devlopment) training where they will learn the essentials including life skills an educational and creative activities for children. They must also be trained in management.
The project will qualify teachers of 8 creches therefore solving the problem of the children being in underqualified care and it will provide them with the right education to prepare them for primary school.
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
