Project is addresing trauma, stigma, ethnic hatred, illiteracy, torture and torments of children and youth in Trans-nzoia district affected by ethnic violence. This project offers psychosocial programs, eg sports, games, music, dance and drama, counselling, education, clothing.Over 1000 will benefit.
We run a daily sports/games/Music/Drama/Dance program at the Internally Displaced Camp at Kachibora. We hold talkshows and lifeskills workshops for the youth.
Total Funding Received to Date: $850
This project is now in implementation and no longer available for funding. Received funds will be used to accomplish concrete objectives as indicated in the project's "Activities" section. Updates will be posted under the "Project Report" tab as they become available.
Donors' contributions and pledges to this project totaled $850 . The original project funding goal was $25,000.
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
The project will support 1000 children and youths to gain usefull lifeskills and to cope with the trauma experienced during the ethnic violence.
Through the sports/games/music/drama/dance and counselling, at least I am able to forget the bad experience I went through when they burnt our house, slashed my brother with a knife & raped my sister
