"We're all going to die. Some one with cancer. But not every cancer diagnosis is a death sentence: 50% of patients are cured today, the rest try to live as long as possible. It's hard not to think about death, but in Fundación Sales we give support to sick and healthy, as rarely a happy person develops cancer. Many experiences show that patients of a "selfcare groups” that we manage improves quality of life.” Susana Blum

"We're closer than we think of the final vaccine"

In 1993 I was diagnosed with melanoma. Until 1997, my oncologist decided to remove as much was spotted over 100 in my whole body, 90% premalignant. In 1998 I had lung metastases. I made the decision to operate although the outlook was very bleak. I never raised the question of why me?, But I wondered how I leave it? Because of something she was sure: I'm not going to die. I started searching for the best therapy. I had seen on the Internet that some countries conducting research on vaccines. No one could tell me exactly what it was. A consultation at MD Anderson Cancer Center (USA) cleared the way: I contact the Dr.José Mordoh and enter your vaccination schedule. Where? Here, in Argentina. One month after the operation had my first consultation with Dr.Mordoh I joined his program. At first chemotherapy treatment had a high school, prior to the application of vaccines. I did not lose his hair, I had no nausea or vomiting, and religiously went to get my daughter to school the same day of treatment. With the advancement of research, Dr.Mordoh told me that he no longer needed chemo, only the vaccine. At 11 years of its first application, I am free from disease. Cancer is not just a disease. Bring economic problems, job changes and family, etc.. Here came into my life SALES Foundation, which holds Dr.Mordoh investigations, including the cost of medical care to patients who are vaccinated, in addition to providing free emotional and psychological support. We're closer than we think of the final vaccine. We need to continue joining forces. Personally I will continue collaborating to pursue investigations. Thank you all for my life. Thanks for not letting my daughter ran out of his mother. Claudia Mujica Melanoma is a tumor whose incidence is increasing faster and more common between 15 and 44. In Argentina, some 5,000 cases are estimated annually. When advanced immunological response to treatment, not the chemo. The vaccines would be an essential therapeutic.

Let´s complete the Confocal Microscopy

Confocal Microscopy
Confocal Microscopy

Dr. Claudia Lanari needs to complete a Microscope Confocal to know better the mechanisms that they allow to design new therapeutic against the breast cancer. For donations of several families already we acquire the first part of the Microscope, which allows to see with high resolution the organization of the cells and to characterize them morphologically to compare them. It is an indispensable tool for the diagnosis. The current Microscope has two láseres, for what we are bordered to seeing an alone protein and an organela, or two proteins only, one of red color and other one of green color. For the technological sophistication and the complexity of the biological systems, we need to incorporate the third laser or color, which would allow to see the interaction between three proteins, or two proteins and the subcellular organelas. This would help to understand the mechanisms that they lead to the cellular growth and to prevent that they happen. ALREADY WE COLLECT $ 165.OOO! FOR THE 1 ª PART OF THE MICROSCOPE. WE NEED 35.000 MORE DOLLARS TO COMPLETE AND TO ADVANCE IT WITH THE PROPOSED AIM.

Towards a Vaccine against Cancer

Gabriel Rabinovich
Gabriel Rabinovich

Dr. Gabriel Rabinovich (Researcher) says: "if the indications obtained till now are confirmed, it would be possible to ignite the circuit activating the production of galectina-1 or his union with azúcares in the cell dendrítica (the first gear), and the production modulating of interleuquina 27 (the second gear) or of interleuquina 10 (the third gear) to stop(detain) the autoimmune response, or to produce antibodies that block the tolerance. Next years, we are going to distribute our efforts between the basic research and the therapeutic one ".

Support from the Inter American Development Bank

The Inter-American Development Bank (I.A.D.B.) granted a subsidy to our Project of anti-tumour vaccine, of up to US$ 1.000.000 for next the three years. The subsidy demands a counterpart contribution, that the SALES Foundation will pay with the donations that receives from thousands of citizens: thus, more donations will produce more money from the I.A.D.B., in such a way that by each donated dollar the I.A.D.B. grants us three.
