Project Personnel

Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi - Executive Director

As co-founder/Executive Director of the AWDF, Bisi is returning her extensive fundraising, leadership training and organizational development experience to the women of Africa. She was Director of Akina Mama wa Afrika, a development organization for African women; helped develop the African Women's Leadership Institute which has trained 600 African women; and speaks at conferences worldwide.

Abigail Burgesson - Program Officer

Abigail joined AWDF from Ghana's National Democratic Institute for International Affairs to oversee its regional organizations and the Small Grants Program. With an MA in International Relations and training in International Negotiations, Abigail has focused her extensive experience on getting women's groups and organizations recognized and involved in policy making.

Faustina Donkor - Chairperson

With basic reading and writing skills, and strong leadership, Faustina Donkor has led the Dzimpa & Adom processing group to generate enough profit to acquire their own equipment. Upon attending a workshop in small scale agro-food processing, she implemented improved methods of growing and processing food.
