Summary
Supplying Andy with physical therapy, traditional medical treatment and supplies such as a special bed so that she can do exercise on her own. SEDA is raising funds to support Andy's treatment.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
The project addresses the health of a disabled girl in Laos by providing her with physical therapy, traditional medications including herbs, and raising funds so that she has access to nutritious foods and the tools necessary for physical therapy.
How will this project solve this problem?
If we are able to raise money for a therapuetic bed, Andy will be able to perform exercises on her own and will hopefully be able to walk soon - the goal is in 2009. SEDA is also raising funds for Andy's medicinal treatment and food.
Potential Long Term Impact
In the long term SEDA hopes that Andy will be able to walk and care for herself as a result of the physical therapy and proper medical care.
Project Message
I saw Andy lying in a plastic chair that was obviously not providing her with the comfort or support she needs. Her body was covered with a towel rather than a proper blanket
