The third Saturday of every month hundreds of people form a line outside the SPCA with one thing in mind, their pets' well-being. Each month the SPCA gives out 2.5 tons of dog and cat food to these families effected by the economy. The SPCA's pet Food Pantry has been up and running for two years, and has helped keep over 500 families together.
Here are some thank-you from several of the program's participants:
"I have been out of work since July 2009, and don't know what I would do without the gracious donations of cat food from the SPCA of Wake County. Holly, Tyler and Dillon (my cats) thank you, and I thank you. It is much appreciated."
"Thank you so much for donating to the Pet Food Pantry. In the last year and a half we had a fire at our house, our furnace had to be replaced, our mom had a serious illness and then knee surgery. Our mom is out of money and without the pantry we would be very hungry." (from the pets.)
Thanks to the generosity of the donors at globalgiving, the SPCA is able to help pets from going hungry, and keep families together. We are grateful for your support.
