Global Reach Report
By Bill Sansone | Project Leader
Mike Cassidy a Global Reach International volunteer was in Nepal from February 2011 through April 2011. Mike met with the school to discuss the progress of the fundraiser. Global Reach International requires a percentage from the community to have a project go into its final phase. The community has committed labor and tools to reach our goal to fund this project to its completion.
Committed partners include, T@R Alarms Inc., whom has offered to send professional installers to Nepal to complete the project. Our committed goal of this project is $30,000. Most of this will be in supplies, shipping, and labor. On GlobalGiving we have raised $840. This money will be used in getting the product to Nepal and purchasing additional supplies for the school. Money has not been spent yet, because the project has not been fully completed or funded.
Once Global Reach International gets a full commitment on the solar energy equipment then we will proceed with completion of the project.
If you would like to discuss this with someone from Global Reach International please contact us at 973-948-4101.
Thank You,
Bill Sansone

Rain Water
By Bill Sansone | Project Leader
Rain Water Project:
A report has not been submitted in a few months since we have not officially started this project. Money has been raised and will be used once we start the process of building. Global Reach International and the Nepal community are actively seeking funds to complete this project. Raw materials are being donated from the United States. Money from the fundraiser will be used to help transport most of this equipment to Nepal.
Our trip to Nepal was postponed until the summer of 2011. We do currently have a volunteer in the field in Nepal until March 20th. He will be visiting the school where we will be establishing this project. Once he returns, we will have a complete report on the status of this project. We also have one of our staff members Khusbu Adhikari traveling to Nepal from February 23 through March 23. She will also be making the final preparations to complete this project.
A planed team will be going to Nepal in the summer to complete this project along with myself.
Thank You,
Bill Sansone

A team of volunteers went to Nepal from January through March of 2010. During this time we did a site survey of the site. We will be starting construction this summer with completion of the project by October 2010. Please seee notes below.
Global Reach International and Rotary International are jointly working on a solar and water project in the country of Nepal. Solar units will be placed on schools and other facilities throughout Nepal. We are also constructing water capture tanks made of cement to store water for future consumption. Water will be captured during the monsoon season so that people can have sufficient water throughout the year. A volunteer from Global Reach International through USAID Grant program helped with the planning of this project. The preceding report is from our January - March 2010 work trip to Nepal.
The trip to Nepal this year was a success and rewarding experience for everyone involved. Global Reach International is currently working with Rotary International on a solar project to bring solar energy and water to a school village in Nepal. The village name is Lee Lee and is located two hours outside Kathmandu. On our journey Devon Basher helped Global Reach and Rotary to create a site plan and prepare research to begin the construction of the solar and water shed project. He did a site analysis with the town engineer and village elders to work out a plan to bring this project to a reality. Without his expertise and knowledge of solar construction this project would not happen. We will be sending Devon back to Nepal in October to start the construction of the solar project. He will train the local village on how to operate and repair the unit if it is damaged or malfunctioning. He will also teach local electricians and engineers on how to construct the unit so that they can replicate the project for future school projects.
We also had the opportunity to travel to an NRN (Nepal Residence Abroad) project. They constructed a nursing home in Chitwan for older citizens. We will be installing similar solar units at this facility. The facility was constructed by Nepali citizens living abroad. They have asked us to work jointly with them on helping bring solar energy to these people in need.
