progress on the 50 lamps and 2 ventures makutano

meeting with the group
meeting with the group

SDfA-Kenya together with her partners SEED Awards conducted a workshop on financial sustainability on 8th and 9th march this year to educate the women group we are working with and provided lamps to in makutano on the benefits of financial sustainability. Among the topics covered were: Triple bottom line planning, community engagement, Financing strategy, Generating partnerships, market research, marketing, and benefit, risk, analysis and risk mitigation. After the workshop the group has been linked to local micro finance groups with which they are working with to find funding to start our first income generating activity, which is scheduled for end of June.

Thanks for the funds mobilized at global giving, we are intending to help them start this venture as soon as they are ready. We are currently working with them to accumulate enough funds for their rabbit keeping project which has been suggested by the group.

The venture will not only provide the group with the funds to kick start their future intended projects (income generating activities) but it will also provide the residents with what they have been longing for and like most, the rabbit delicacy.

Again from SDfA-Kenya we say thank you to everyone who has contributed to this achievement and we hope to work with you to achieve our dream of providing 50 lamps to makutano village in Kenya and creating 2 ventures, Thank you so much
