What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

Improve the health status, study opportunity and safety and reduce the use of open kerosene lamps by providing solar lamps to 1500 children in Kibera, Nairobi-Kenya

How will this project solve this problem?

"Light up my Christmas" seeks to provide 1500 underpriviledged children of Kibera slums with their first real reading experience and sustain it through the provision of a sustainable resource center through providing books and solar lamps .

Potential Long Term Impact

About 15000 underpriviledged African children and their famlies shall receive better education, develop a reading culture, reduce carbon emmissions, fuel expenses and improve their health.

Project Message

Since I received the solar lamp, I am able to do my homwework as well as study for my final KCPE exams and my family can join each other and cooperate to do more every evening.
