Currently, there is no power grid or electrical infrastructure to serve the dorm. Staff and 30 children will benefit from lights and computer access to do their schoolwork. Today they have to rely on flashlight or kerosene lights for reading, and cannot operate any computer or any other appliance. Staff will participate in the installation and be trained in operation of the system.
Technical design is complete. Local partner BGET will procure the equipment, help install it, and train staff in the installation, operation and maintenance of the system. Everybody will help for the installation, providing construction labor.
Total Funding Received to Date: $1,867

This project has provided additional documentation in a PDF file (projdoc.pdf).
Education: Students and staff will have proper lighting for homework and activities at night, and will be able to use a computer and the internet.
“I would be happy to be able to use the power from a solar electric system. We could use it for the dormitory for students to study, do homework, and learn computer programs, and also for youth camps.
