Snehalaya meaning the Home with love in Hindi

We cordially invite you to join us for our annual gala in honor of some of the outstanding volunteers of the year on 7th July in London, details among events on facebook/helpchildrenofindia Please join us on the occasion extending your support with an opportunity to meet the trustees, advisers, supporters and many volunteers attending there.

Only with your support, we have been able to come so far. Snehalaya continues to provide every thing to 64 disabled and destitute children resident there as well health care through health center and education to the children esp. girls from surrounding villages through special need and main stream school in the campus. We had 77 girls with start of main stream school last year but with new admissions going on, we hope the number of children will increase to about 200 this year. We also continue with distribution of solar lights to school going children to facilitate their education as well integrated development work in slums and villages there.

Because of nonavailability of electricity, we need to place a 5KB solar powered pump, which will fulfill not only essentially required water but also electricity for emergency needs in the school and health center. It is costing $15500.00 and we are sure for generous donations from all of you to meet these emergency requirements before end of this month. GlobalGiving has also kindly agreed to give 50% bonus to match donations received on 13th June.

Starting at 12:01 am EDT (US time), on 13th June 2012, GlobalGiving will match all donations by 50% made through GlobalGiving up to $1,000 per donor. Matching will last until funds run out. Therefore if feasible, each of you please donate maximum possible upto $1000, on the morning of 13th June and ask all your friends and colleagues also to do same, before funds run out.
