This project will help the Simon Communities to support between 4,500 and 5,000 people across Ireland every year. The funds raised will go directly towards providing meals and accommodation to vulnerable people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Simon delivers support and services to between 4,500 and 5,000 people who experience - or are at risk of - homelessness on an annual basis across Ireland. Local Simon Communities throughout Ireland, provide a variety of services including food and emergency accommodation as well as short and long term support for people who are homeless. Our resources are strained as more and more vulnerable people face the prospect of becoming homeless.
How will this project solve this problem?
The Simon Communities throughout Ireland will continue to provide meals, emergency accommodation and support to those who are homeless or at risk. In addition Simon will provide specialist health and treatment services, tenancy sustainment and settlement services to support people to move on to independent living.
Potential Long Term Impact
There are many reasons why a person becomes homeless, and in Simon we deal with them all. The eight local Simon Communities in Ireland continue to provide innovative, high quality services responding effectively and meeting local needs, as we have done for over 40 years. While the future remains uncertain Simon will continue to work with hope and optimism focusing on making a real and lasting difference to the lives of people who use our services around the country.
