The Afghan Women's Survival Fund Thanks You

MADRE’s Afghan Women’s Survival Fund provides shelter and services to women and girl survivors of violence, including sexual violence. With the help of your unwavering support, our brave partners on the ground work in 10 provinces in Afghanistan and have served over 10,000 women and girls through their shelters and support centers.

The shelters and support centers are a safe haven for the women and girls who have faced egregious acts of violence and have been shamed and shunned away from their families. Through the Afghan Women’s Survival Fund, these survivors have access to a wide range of support services to help them back on their feet: they meet with lawyers and counselors; learn how to read and write and participate in life-skills and vocational classes. Just like our partner’s work in Iraq, these centers are essential to provide the necessary support to help survivors of life-threatening violence heal physically and emotionally from the trauma they have faced.

Once again, we thank you for all of your support and helping us reach our goal to fund this important project!
