This program will give 503 very focused children protection from a collapsing roof and the school supplies and support necessary to rewrite their future.
There are 503 students at Okoboi PS who risk their lives and limb by attending school everyday. The roof of their school is on the verge of collapse. Some students currently take their classes outside the building under the tree when the weather permits, but they have no choice but to go indoors when it rains. In addition to the state of the facilities, the students are in need of basic school and classroom supplies. We also want to fund the school lunch program which will boost attendance.
Shashamane will provide for the repair of the school roof and renovation of the school buildings. We will also provide school and classroom supplies and work with administrators to develop programs that will give students a chance at success in life.
Okoboi PS will educate 503 boys and girls, giving them the skills to find or create employment, allowing them to escape poverty and contribute to their families and community.
We study under trees and in very bad classrooms, with loose tiles that threaten our lives. We also lack text books. Thank you for loving us and for coming to help us in our education.
