Sensitize 20 farmers through kitchen garden



The project will target food insecure rural households including marginal farmers, agricultural wage earners and those households who could also utilize available space for Kitchen-gardens in the project area. It will impart knowledge and skills to the participating target beneficiaries, singling out composting and growing own food in family units as the means to achieving its goal.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

The project area is the saline area near Bhavnagar distirct of Gujarat state. The village farmers of the villages are facing the problem of purchasing the vegetables from the other places on high prices. It will effect the food security of the farmers who are not that much capable of spending money.

How will this project solve this problem?

The project will ensure the sustainability of the programme beyond the project period. Training component of the project will transfer technology to the farming households in improved techniques of vegetable production even during off-season period.

20 kitchen gardens will be established 20 families Malnutrition level reduced; Employment generated; Rural income enhanced; Food security improved;
