Send 400 Kisii Orphans to schools in Kenya

Health and Water plans to provide free learning materials, school uniforms and fees payment to 400 orphans children in Kenya whose poverty and loss of parents/guardian is as a result of HIV/AIDS.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

A high number of Orphans Vulnerable Children (OVC) in Kisii District in Kenya with no basic primary education is increasing alarmingly.More children are left without much support as their beloved parents/guardians die to HIV/AIDS which is prevalent in the District leaving some of them with HIV and with no support to attend early childhood education. This project seeks to address more than 400 Orphans Vulnerable Children in ensuring that they get quality early childhood education and medication

How will this project solve this problem?

The Project will provide school uniforms, a steady supply of learning material and school fees to 400 + orphans vulnerable children. The children will be accommodated to good performing primary schools in the District to improve their academic potential.HIV/AIDS children will be provided with necessary medication (Antiretroviral drug) and annual medical visit to all the orphans to access their medical conditions.

Potential Long Term Impact

The project will enable more than 400 orphans children in Kisii District have the chance to enroll in basic education with assistance in school fees for them, this will reduce the rate of these children becoming street children and begging for a living. Children lives will be saved and the life expectancy increased for the HIV positive orphans
