CCI - Uganda will sponsor 150 orphans from 3 villages in Northern Uganda so they can attend boarding school where challenges of day to day life in the villages will not interfere with their education.
Children in villages in Northern Uganda have a completion rate in school of 25% and those who can afford the school fees often go on an empty stomach after doing their daily chores. Our goal is to sponsor 150 children so they can attend boarding school where the day to day struggles of village life will not interfere with their education. Many of these children are from child headed families where there both parents were killed in a civil war that lasted over 20 years.
CCI - Uganda works actively at the village level to identify orphans that will benefit most from the opportunity to go to school. Children will be sponsored for three years which includes transportation, boarding, uniforms, supplies and school fees.
Students sponsored through this program will have developed skills and will be able to support themselves and their families. This will reduce the chances that they will enter into child labor or be recruited into criminal behavior.
