What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Children access to information and knowledge is vital in ensuring they are protected, mentored and enabled to reach their potentials. Most media outlets in Tanzania focus on informing adult because of the direct commercial benefit there is, leaving children as spectators in their own country.
How will this project solve this problem?
Sema Magazine is a print, radio and TV program aimed at informing children, hence equip them with knowledge to help them solve their own little challenges and those challenges facing their friends through media. Sema Magazine provides unique and rare opportunities for children from all works of life to share their stories on how they are working tirelessly to tackle those challenges.
Potential Long Term Impact
To inform the budget allocations of Local Government Authorities, in Tanzania with evidence about the demand for child protection services and the constraints faced. >> As an advocacy campaign Sema Magazine hopes more money will be set aside to help meet children services demands in respective local authority.
