Gender Equality

By a female, 46-60 years old , in Nairobi, Kenya
Map of GENDER EQUALITY The Kenyan constitution was just changed last year through a referendum that saw the new constitution being voted for by 67 % of the Kenyan voters who voted during the referendum whoever the question remains could the change of the constitution reflect the change on the ground. this was reflected when the judicial service commission nominated five judges to the supreme court and the list included four men and one woman while the constitution advocate for a 50/50 representation and gender equality to all.The FIDA society tried it best to try and stop the appointments of these nominees so that changes could be made but their efforts went sour when the president gazetted the names of the nominees in the Kenya gazette So i thing i think of is that could the efforts of changing this society into or fighting for gender equality been fruitful or the issue of gender equality is not yet an issue in our communities because when we thought the constitution would help change this, things still go the African was "women are minority". Educcation On Gender Equility

By a male, 22-30 years old, in Kakamega, Kenya
Map of

educcation on gender equility Gender inequality in our communities has actually hindered societal development.Negative socio-cultural attitudes, values and practices has captured many minds and women and children have greatly suffered as a result. Many women are abused in their marriage they are denied leadership position as they are deemed as weak. However, this mindset has been slowly dwindling in my community because of the education provided by WEAWP an NGO for the post five years or so. Many men have begun to regard women as able creatures who can even do better than them if they are given opportunites. Many women have risen to leadership positions cases of gender violence are minimal hence this is an encouragement in itself. Map of HOW A CONDITION CAN CHANGE YOUR RELATIONS H.IV & AIDS a killer disease thats how it was said to be. In most cases positive people have problems and difficulties in relations with others in a community. some organizations come in-form of H.I.V testing, guiding and councelling, but do the work of testing and presenting results only and at end cause more trouble. Here is a story... Once there lived a boy who was in a boarding institution. Just like other adolscent boys he engaged in love affairs and sexual behaviour. Then their came an organization in the school that would test, guide and councell students who were positive. Him together with his friends agreed to take the test In the process results were made and it was found out that he was positive. In disbelief he jumped out of the room and ran crying. is friends were not late to know that he was infected.
