-Progress of our project:

In post conflict country, as Democratic Republic of Congo, children and teens are in lack of skills. They have not been at school. Many of them are ex soldiers. In Birambizo city for example, in 100 kilometers from Goma, 80 % of teenagers out of school, selected by Children’s Voice for vocational training, do not know to read or to write. There are many from street and from armed militias.  They are vulnerable, abused and neglected and exposed to delinquency.

- Youth education program is a vocational training program to skill youth ages from 14 to 17 years old who are out of school. They do it in eight months of training and internship.

- Story of beneficiary:

“My life fell over when I got pregnant without to know the father of my baby. To be in children’s Voice center is a new hope to me. I have been trained in fixing hair. I have a new life. I work in hair salon. I am happy to hand my life with my daughter. Last month I got 200 USD from my work. Every month I save 20$ in cooperative for the future. To be raped is not any more a fatal to me. This is the past. What is important to me is the new life I have. I like my life and love my baby so much”.

- Accomplishments and impact:

Every year, More than 150 teens are skilled in vocational training in sewing, carpentry, mechanic, and hairstyle. We provide to all health care and a psychological assistance. .
