Summary
FUNDAHMER and Nourish International are working together to construct an elementary schoolhouse to address the lack of early education in the Morazan community and facilitate ongoing education.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Several communities within Morazan, El Salvador are lacking the facilities to properly educate their youth. Specifically, the community is lacking a a kindergarten and elementary schoolhouse. Therefore, children must wait an additional year to begin their education process. Not only are the young children lacking a source of early education, but their parents and elders are also lacking a place to hold community meetings and important events.
How will this project solve this problem?
By constructing an elementary schoolhouse, Nourish members will enable the community to provide early education for their youth. Furthermore, this facility will act as a crucial meeting place for community leaders during after school hours.
Potential Long Term Impact
An earlier start to education will instill a scholastic culture within the community both early on and for years to come. This facility will affect all students in the education system because it will provide for an enhanced learning environment.
Project Message
"Together with the Base Communities, we build relationships of solidarity at the national and international levels, working in a spirit of education and in balance with nature."
