This project will provide educational and employment opportunities for orphaned and marginalized youth living in poverty who display talents, intelligence and most importantly determination to pursue higher education; however, due to their economic circumstances are not able to afford to study. Our goal is to make these young adults self-reliant and self-sufficient individuals that will positively contribute towards the development and peace in their respective country.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Bosnia and Herzegovina suffers from 43% unemployment rate. Due to these harsh living conditions, education is becoming a commodity that many are not able to afford. In a country of little over 4million inhabitants, almost 400,000 are close to falling below the poverty line, which will result in even more children not being able to pursue education. Without proper education and employment opportunities, we cannot expect living conditions to improve nor long-term stability and peace in the country
How will this project solve this problem?
This project provides financial assistance for our beneficiaries to obtain education, employment opportunities and funds for personal development that better prepare each one of our beneficiaries to become self-reliant members of their country. Our beneficiaries are also encouraged to take language, computer and job training classes so that they are more desirable candidates for their future employers.
Potential Long Term Impact
The project will provide continuous support and educational opportunities allowing them to rise out of poverty, which will provide for their families' better living conditions and well-being.
