Saving lives and ending breast cancer by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures.

Programs

In 2009, Susan G. Komen for the Cure distributed $550,000 to the State of Oregon and $100,000 to the Sate of Washington for their Breast and Cervical Cancer Programs to provide no-cost mammograms to uninsured low-income patients. This program includes a group of providers – imaging facilities, primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, oncological surgeons, laboratories, etc. – to meet the medical needs of the patients.

Christine McDonald - Executive Director
Christine McDonald has been the Executive Director of the Oregon & SW Washington Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure since January 2005. Since 2005, under Chris’ direction, the Affiliate has doubled its revenue and staff thereby increasing the Affiliate’s capacity to serve the residents of Oregon and SW Washington and raise funds for local programs and breast cancer research.
