Breast cancer is the leading cancer among American women and is 2nd only to lung cancer in cancer deaths. Until researchers find the causes and the cures, education about early detection and proper treatment is our best defense against the disease. Early detection has been shown to reduce breast cancer deaths by up to 40%. We work to ensure that all women and men – whatever the geographic, cultural cultural or economic barriers – have access to life-saving services.
Our National organization projects that it will invest more than $2 Billion in research and treatment over the next decade. Invest more than $1 billion in education and community health groups to ensure quality care for all.
Total Funding Received to Date: $2,960
Remaining Goal to be Funded: $72,040
Total Funding Goal: $75,000
This project has provided additional documentation in a PDF file (projdoc.pdf).
Together these programs provide nearly $1.2 Million to local activities to address the devastation of breast cancer. These programs all work towards finding a cure to breast cancer.
“Komen saved my life. I was scared and alone, not exactly sure where to start, literally, to fight for my life…I am forever thankful to Komen for connecting me to lifesaving resources."
