Summary

Donate 2,000 educational kits, containing video and informational folder to public schools in the Distrito Federal state.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

Many schools in the Dsitrito Federal are located in poor peripheries where there is still native vegetation and wild animals. People that live there, many of them children and teenagers, have the habit of capturing wild animals to sell them in markets. This is why we have to promote an educational work with this students, to make them understand that taking animals from nature causes not only serious damage to the environment but can also bring them and their families dangerous diseases.

How will this project solve this problem?

The project includes production and distribution of educational material, and speeches by Renctas’ volunteers to help teachers promote pedagogical activities with their students.

Potential Long Term Impact

This project has the capacity to benefit for one year an estimated public of 40,000 child and teenagers that study in public schools. According to official estimation, an educational material has a 5 years life.

Project Message

The educational material that Renctas develops has helped us a lot in our work with students, it made us discover that fauna is everyone’s wealth and that we have the obligation to conserve it.
- Theresa de Fátima, Public school teacher
