Save the life of 600 cyclone affected poor women, live in the remote costal island of Bangladesh, providing training, transportation, diet and medicine supports for using emergency maternity services
The pregnant women of remote disaster prone island of Bangladesh are at risk of avoidable maternal death as no health services exist there. About 15% pregnancies develop complications requiring emergency medical interventions from district hospital, which is inaccessible due to distance (60 KM) and water transportation, resulting high incidences of maternal death. CDHC will provide those women with training, emergency transportation, medicines and diet supports for preventing unavoidable death.
The project will train pregnant women including their husbands & in-laws on pregnancy dangers signs for seeking maternity care. It will provide emergency transportation supports by Water Ambulance to reach district hospital, medicines and diets.
The project will immediately save the life of 100 pregnant women (15% of 600 pregnant women, who will develop emergency complications) from avoidable death or disability, which has also long term impact on family livelihood, happiness, and most importantly her children's health & well being.
