Summary

CMM has been saving hundreds of vulnerable children (of forced prostitutes) with the aim to prevent them from getting forced or lured into the sex trade. As part of this, it holds 30 children at its model home. They give hope for a better future through providing education, good nutrition and a safe and clean home environment. Your support will not only have an impact on this children because you will be contributing the spread of CMM's model and vision, which should be necessarily replicated.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

Parents from a poor and uneducated background living in the rural and costal regions of India fall in the trap of trusting a middlemen with their children. They are promised an education and a better life for their children in the big city. These middlemen than force the children to work as prostitutes, many of them end up being HIV infected. While the mother works in the sex industry, their children are also forced or lured to work in the same field which CMM wants to prevent with your support.

How will this project solve this problem?

This project will solve the problem of entering into forced prostitution by providing safe residential care, trauma counseling, quality education, medical care, nutrition and psychosocial support. CMM also convinces women at forced prostitution to keep away their children from a prositutional environment, which provides second generation entering into forced sex work.

Potential Long Term Impact

CMM's work is effecting more than 500 children and 3000 forced women in prostituion in a year. The organization encourages women to give up sex work and identifies them as part of the organizations team to achieve the organization's vision. CMM is a role model for India; founded by an ex-forced sex-worker, it shows the society that those coming from an under privileged background can make a great positive impact on society and can break free to a better life.
